TRAE HAWKINS is a fantasy/sci-fi writer who explores various forms of marginalization through Black and queer lenses. He has an MFA from the University of Nevada, Reno, and works as a sensitivity reader. He is a student of the 2023 Viable Paradise and the 2025 Tin House workshops, and a winner of We Need Diverse Books and Penguin Random House’s Black Creatives Revisions Workshop. He loves to write about empowering Afrofuturist worlds and far-off spacefaring shenanigans.
